Git Along Little Dawggie

On the way from Ogden, UT to Twin Falls, ID, we decided to take a trip off the beaten path to see the City of Rocks (since Sedwick wasn't able to go skydiving until later that day). The City of Rocks was definitely off the beaten path. So much so, in fact, that we encountered a cowjam (otherwise known as a roundup if you don't have to wait for the crossing to be over). This roundup had everything: cows (of course), horses, and real cowboys!! Ok, perhaps it didn't have the doggies, but hey, it had everything else!! The cowboys helped us out by giving us directions to basically just keep driving. One cow decided he wanted to cross the road in the other direction and almost walked into the car. Tomorrow, when we buy a cable to get video to the computer from Michele's camera, we can add a video of the roundup.

Note: We thought it important to point out that the beaten path is not that very beaten; rather it's only lightly slapped around.

City of Rocks
Emigrants on their way to California saw this wondrous place and dubbed it The City of Rocks because the rocks reminded them of city buildings (which, we could see, sort of). Anywho, it was an interesting enough place, but rather than present it in words, we thought we'd use a slide show, because a pictures, as you know, is worth 1000 words (and we have 16 pictures, so, really, 16000 words).

Signs, Signs, Everywhere there's signs (and a few of them are even funny). Two of our favorites were found in the same place. On our way out of the City of Rocks (unpaved bumpy road for miles which hurt Nancy's back and destroyed Michele's stomach), we ran into our two favorite signs. The first of these, as you can see, mentions a truck (which ostensibly has been laid to rest in this little graveyard) but we could find no truck anywhere, which just made us like the sign more. The second sign was one of the best Xing signs we've seen.

How do we know that Idaho is known for its potatoes?

Last-but-not-least... The Bridge!

Our final stop of the day today was at the Perrine Bridge - the infamous bridge that Sedwick is so excited to toss himself from. Seeing the bridge did help with the stress (we think). Seeing others launch themselves from this source may also have helped a tad. Below, you will see both a slide show of pictures taken before base jumpers and a video of basejumpers. Sedwick doesn't jump until Saturday, but you can see video of him that day!! Do the pictures and video make any of you feel better?
