Not Craters, Not the Moon

After visiting the Shoshone Indian Ice Caves, Nancy and I took a trip to Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve. If you like volcanic rock, this is the place for you! The park was apparently named because it looked like the craters on the moon (not surprisingly, given its name) but through a telescope (because the park was named 60 years or so before man made it to the moon). Let me tell you... it looks nothing like any pictures of the moon I've ever seen. And I'm not entirely sure I saw anything that resembled a crater either. But, such is life. Regardless, we are talking MILES and MILES of volcanic rock. As Jimmy the base-jumping instructor said, "there's nothing there unless you like volcanic rock." Of course, we did not hear this until our return. Apparently this is the time to see wild flowers at the park. But, as you can see in the movie, there are some flowers.

FYI - the movie was made using Picasa's movie maker. It took mere seconds to create.

And, although Andrea commented on the lack of narration in the last video, this too has no narration. Maybe, just maybe, I'll get to that with one of the future videos!
